About Gene
Hello my name is Gene and I am a fun, local Austin pickleball coach with over 5 years of playing experience and over 4 years of teaching experience! I am also a PPR Certified Pickleball Professional and I am certified through Pickleball Coaching International. I had lived in New Jersey my whole life and graduated from Georgetown University (BA) and Villanova Law School (JD). I am now retired and I am currently a full-time pickleball coach/pickleball instructor both in the Austin and Round Rock area. I began playing pickleball in New Jersey back in 2019 and then got PPR certified during COVID-19 in 2020. When the courts reopened, I began teaching in the the Bernardsville/Basking Ridge area in New Jersey. Three years ago, our first grandchild was born in Austin-so we moved to Austin and have been loving Texas, that grandson (with another one on the way) and I very passionately enjoy teaching/coaching pickleball here in Austin/Round Rock area!
I was formerly the Head Pickleball Coach/Head Pickleball Instructor for the Teravista Community in Round Rock but now I’m a pickleball coach/pickleball instructor/marketing assistant at Austin Pickle Ranch (APR) where I am also a founding member & close friend/colleague of Tim Klitch who is the Founder & CEO of Austin Pickle Ranch (APR). Tim’s newest venue in north Austin is a truly magnificent indoor, air-conditioned 16 court facility that features state of the art pickleball surfaces, cushioned sofas and tables around each court, with a full service sports bar to come in the early Fall. It is located in North Austin, just 8 miles north of downtown Austin/University of Texas.
I am offering fun private pickleball lessons, semi-private pickleball lessons, group pickleball lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). So whether you need to work on some specifics like your forehand, backhand, volley, serve, service return, overhead, drop shot (dink), approach shot, footwork, singles strategy or doubles strategy-I would be happy to help you with your game!
I teach pickleball lessons in the Austin and Round Rock area but I will also travel up to 15 miles to a pickleball court that’s located near you.

Semi-Private Pickleball Lessons (2 Players): $25 Per Hour Each
Group Pickleball Lessons (3+ Players): $20 Per Hour Each
Hitting Only Sessions (1 Player): $60 Per Hour (Includes PB Machine)
