About Tim

Hello my name is Tim and I am a fun, local Excelsior pickleball coach with over 7 years of playing experience and over 5 years of teaching experience! I’m also a PCI Certified Pickleball Professional as well as a member. I grew up on a farm in Medina, Minnesota with 8 Siblings and attended Wayzata High School where I met my wife Annie. We have lived in Deephaven for the last 40 years. Our 3 kids (Amanda, Spencer and Carly) graduated from Minnetonka High School. I have a sports background playing table tennis and platform tennis over the past 30+ years. I’ve been playing pickleball since 2018 and got involved in pickleball to lose a little weight but I had no idea what an awesome sport I had stumbled across! Coaching pickleball allows me to exercise my passion for teaching and with my continued current pickleball education, I will always bring you the very latest pickleball skills and pickleball drills. I am currently coaching pickleball at the Mega Minnetonka and Mega Chanhassen pickleball clubs. I’m also a pickleball coach for Wayzata, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie and Apple Valley Community Education/Parks and Recreation programs as well as the head pickleball teaching pro at the Lafayette Club. I previously coached at Wayzata Country Club, Minneapolis Cider Company and Lucky Shots. One fun fact that I really like to share with my students is that my son Spencer produces some pickleball live streams for the Tennis Channel, PPA Tour, APP Tour & MLP (Major League Pickleball).

I am offering fun private pickleball lessons, semi-private pickleball lessons, group pickleball lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). So whether you need to work on some specifics like your forehand, backhand, volley, serve, service return, overhead, drop shot (dink), approach shot, footwork, singles strategy or doubles strategy-I would be happy to help you with your game!

I teach pickleball lessons in the Excelsior area and will travel up to 25 miles to a pickleball court that’s close to you including Chanhassen, Wayzata, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie & the western Twin City suburbs.
