About Orlando Pickleball Coach Maddy

Hello my name is Maddy and I am a fun, local Orlando pickleball coach as well as a RSPA Certified Pickleball Professional! I am also a professional pickleball player and tennis coach passionate about helping players improve their skills, build confidence, and reach their goals on the court. I bring over 10 years of coaching experience to my lessons, with a background in tennis instruction at established clubs and academies, including Orlando Tennis Academy. I’m also an RSPA Certified Tennis Professional and USTA Certified Tennis Coach. As a competitive pickleball player, I’ve competed in the All Florida Pro League (AFPL), as well as Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) and Association of Pickleball Players (APP) events. Competing against high-level players has given me valuable insight into the technical, strategic, and mental aspects of the game, which I love sharing with my students. My coaching philosophy focuses on making every lesson personalized, productive, and enjoyable. I believe understanding why and when to use different shots is just as important as learning how to execute them. I combine technical instruction, purposeful drills, and game-based situations to help players develop skills they can confidently apply during matches. Whether you’re brand new to pickleball, looking to improve your consistency, or an experienced player wanting to sharpen your strategy and competitive edge, I will tailor each lesson to your individual goals and playing level. I currently offer private, semi-private, and small-group pickleball lessons in the Lake Nona and greater Orlando areas. My goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where players feel challenged, supported, and excited about their progress. I look forward to working with you and helping you take your game to the next level! I teach pickleball lessons in the Orlando area but I will also travel up to 5 miles to a court near you!

Frequently Asked Questions About Pickleball Coaches In Orlando FL

How can I find a qualified pickleball coach in Orlando, Florida?

+

Look for an Orlando pickleball instructor with experience teaching your skill level and, if relevant to your goals, IPTPA or PPR certification. FindPickleballLessons.com can help you explore local coaching options and compare lesson formats.

What does a pickleball coach in Orlando typically charge for private lessons?

+

Private pickleball lessons in Orlando typically cost $50-$100+ per hour, depending on the coach’s experience, credentials, and lesson format. Ask whether court fees are included and whether semi-private or group pickleball training is available at a lower per-person cost.

I’m new to pickleball—can I find a beginner pickleball coach in Orlando?

+

Yes, many Orlando coaches work with beginners and can introduce scoring, court positioning, serve and return, and basic paddle techniques. A beginner pickleball coach can tailor the pace to you and help you feel comfortable before you join local recreational games.

Are there advanced pickleball coaches in Orlando who can help me improve my strategy?

+

Orlando players with match experience can look for an advanced pickleball coach who offers focused pickleball coaching on dinking, the third shot drop, kitchen play, and point construction. Share your goals and current level before booking so the pickleball professional can plan drills that match your needs.

Can I book private pickleball lessons in Orlando, or do I have to join a group?

+

Private pickleball lessons are available options to ask Orlando instructors about, and some also offer semi-private or group sessions. One-on-one coaching gives the coach more time to address your technique, while group lessons can add practice with different partners.

Do Orlando pickleball instructors offer lessons for kids and juniors?

+

Some Orlando pickleball pros provide kids’ lessons or junior pickleball coaching, with instruction adapted to a young player’s age and experience. Ask about class size, equipment, supervision, and whether the coach has experience teaching children.

What should I look for in an IPTPA-certified or PPR-certified pickleball instructor?

+

An IPTPA-certified or PPR-certified pickleball instructor has completed a recognized coach education and certification process, but teaching style and experience matter too. In Orlando, ask how the instructor structures lessons, works with your skill level, and gives feedback during drills and play.

What happens during adult pickleball lessons in Orlando?

+

Adult pickleball lessons often start with a brief discussion of your goals and experience, followed by movement, paddle techniques, and skill-specific drills. Depending on your level, an Orlando pickleball instructor may work on serve and return, dinking, kitchen play, or match strategy.

How do I schedule pickleball coaching around my workday in Orlando?

+

Ask local coaches about their available times, lesson length, and preferred court locations, since schedules and court access can vary around Orlando. When you inquire, mention whether mornings, evenings, or weekends work best and confirm any court reservation requirements.

Do I need to bring my own paddle to a pickleball lesson in Orlando?

+

Ask your Orlando pickleball coach whether paddles and balls are provided, especially if you are new to the sport. If you bring your own paddle, the instructor can also assess your grip and technique and suggest adjustments during your pickleball training.

Coach Maddy's Pickleball Tips

  1. Arrive With One Clear Goal

Before your first pickleball lesson, choose one priority: serve consistency, softer dinks, or confident returns. Tell Maddy what feels difficult and what you hope to improve, so your pickleball coach can shape the session around you. Bring a paddle if you have one, wear comfortable court shoes, and expect to learn through short explanations, focused drills, and useful feedback.

  2. Choose The Right Lesson Format

Private pickleball lessons give you the most individual feedback and let Maddy tailor every drill to your needs. Semi-private pickleball lessons share attention with a partner, while group pickleball lessons add variety and live-play decisions. Choose the format that fits how you learn, then ask Maddy whether it suits your current goal and comfort level before you book.

  3. Start At Your Current Level

Beginner pickleball lessons should build reliable basics before adding speed or complicated tactics. If you already play, describe the shots you trust and the situations that break down. Maddy can meet you where you are rather than assuming your level from your score. In Orlando, pickleball lessons work best when the plan reflects your actual experience, not someone else's timeline.

  4. Practice One Skill Between Sessions

After a lesson, pick one drill Maddy assigned and repeat it in short, focused practice blocks. For example, aim for a calm contact point on each dink instead of changing grip, footwork, and target at once. Keep the task simple enough to remember without a coach. Consistent practice between pickleball lessons helps new movement patterns feel more natural in games.

  5. Make A Simple Progress Log

After each session, write down the lesson focus, one cue that helped, and one question to revisit. Track a repeatable measure, such as successful serves out of ten, rather than relying only on wins. Bring your notes to Maddy so your next lesson can build on real observations. A brief record makes improvement easier to see and keeps practice purposeful.

  6. Set Goals You Can Control

Choose goals based on actions you can repeat, such as using a ready position before every return or aiming serves to a chosen area. Avoid promising yourself a rating jump by a fixed date; progress varies with practice and experience. Maddy can help turn a broad ambition into small checkpoints, so each lesson gives you a clear, realistic next step.

  7. Match Lessons To Your Group

Kids pickleball lessons and junior pickleball lessons should keep instruction active, clear, and suited to a young player's attention and experience. Adult pickleball lessons can focus on personal goals, partner play, or match choices. Tell Maddy who will attend and what they already know; the right pace and lesson format help everyone stay engaged and get useful repetitions.

  8. Use Hitting Sessions With Purpose

A hitting only session is useful when you want more ball repetitions without a full lesson plan, but give it a target. Ask Maddy to feed shots to a specific location, vary pace, or create a pattern you can practice. Notice one cue and reset when form slips. Purposeful hitting can reinforce a skill between coached sessions without becoming unfocused play.

  9. Ask For Feedback You Can Use

During pickleball lessons in Orlando, ask Maddy for one adjustment at a time and request a clear cue you can remember under pressure. After a drill, explain what felt different and ask how to test the change in a point. As your pickleball instructor, Maddy can connect technique to decisions, helping you understand not just what to change, but when to use it.

  10. Coach's Corner

I teach players to reset before speeding up: after your team hits a ball, recover toward a balanced position and keep your paddle in front. On a dink, bend comfortably, contact the ball out in front, and guide it softly over the net rather than swinging hard. I want you to notice your balance first; a controlled shot gives you more time to choose the next one.

Ready to make your next practice count? Book pickleball lessons with Maddy in Orlando and choose private, semi-private, group, or hitting only sessions to match your goals. Whether you want beginner pickleball lessons or a focused tune-up, start with one clear priority and build from there. FindPickleballLessons.com can help you connect with Maddy and take the next step toward more confident play!
