About Naples Pickleball Coach Elias

Hello my name is Coach Elias and I’m a local Naples pickleball coach from Berlin, Germany! I am also a tennis coach with over 20 years of playing experience and over 10 years of teaching experience. I won the Berlin championship as a junior player and during that time my tennis coach was Guenter Bosch who was the former tennis coach of Wimbledon Champion Boris Becker. In order to continue my tennis career after graduating from high school in Germany, I then came to Florida to play college tennis and ended my last tennis season with a very positive record of 11-3. I graduated in May 2016 with a degree in Economics & Exercise Science. I have taught tennis ever since then. Please click here to view my FindTennisLessons.com coach page. I teach pickleball lessons locally right in Naples at Countryside Golf & Country Club and don’t travel to other teaching locations at this time.

Pickleball Tips

  1. Arrive With One Clear Goal

Before pickleball lessons, choose one specific question to guide your attention, such as making your return land deeper or recovering after a shot. Share that goal with your pickleball coach at the start. A focused target makes feedback easier to use and keeps you from trying to fix every part of your game at once. Write it down so you can revisit it afterward.

  2. Pack For Focused Practice

Bring a paddle you can control, water, a towel, and a small notebook or phone for brief notes. Check that your shoes feel secure for quick starts and stops, and arrive with enough time to settle in. In Naples, a little preparation can help you spend less attention on your gear and more on the movement or decision you want to improve.

  3. Warm Up With Purpose

Use a few minutes before instruction for easy movement, gentle shoulder and wrist motions, and controlled paddle touches. Start comfortably rather than chasing speed or power. A gradual warm-up helps you notice how your body feels and gives you time to find a steady rhythm. If anything feels painful or unusual, pause and tell your pickleball instructor before continuing.

  4. Choose A Measurable Target

Set a goal you can observe, not a promise to play perfectly. You might count how many returns reach a chosen depth or how often you recover toward a balanced position after contact. Ask your coach to help make the target realistic for one practice period. A clear measure turns a broad wish into a useful checkpoint without making every miss feel like failure.

  5. Ask Questions At The Right Moment

When feedback is unclear, ask a short question about what to notice on the next repetition. For example, clarify where your paddle should finish or what cue signals a safer shot. In Naples, court time can feel busy, so a concise question helps you get a usable answer without losing your focus. Repeat the cue in your own words to check that it makes sense.

  6. Keep Notes You Can Use

After each lesson, record one cue that helped, one situation that still feels difficult, and one task to revisit. Keep the wording simple enough to remember during play, such as “recover to ready position.” Notes help you connect feedback across sessions and make it easier to explain what happened when you speak with your pickleball coach again.

  7. Practice One Skill At A Time

Between lessons, choose a short practice block for one skill instead of mixing every new idea together. Repeat the same movement or decision, pause when control slips, then resume at a comfortable pace. This gives your attention room to settle on the cue you learned. If you cannot practice on court, mentally rehearse the sequence and picture the intended target.

  8. Build Smarter Court Decisions

Technique matters, but so does choosing a shot that fits the moment. Notice your position, your balance, and the space available before deciding whether to drive, soften, or reset the ball. Ask your pickleball instructor what cue can help you recognize that choice sooner. A simple decision rule is easier to recall under pressure than several competing instructions.

  9. Let Progress Take Its Time

A new stroke or movement may feel awkward before it becomes reliable. Expect uneven practice: some repetitions will work, and others will reveal what still needs attention. Give yourself time to learn without judging a whole session by its hardest moment. If frustration rises, take a breath, return to one simple cue, and ask your pickleball coach what to focus on next.

  10. Track Patterns, Not Just Wins

At the end of a practice week, review your notes and look for patterns: more controlled contact, quicker recovery, or fewer rushed choices. Compare similar situations rather than relying only on the score of a game. This makes small gains easier to see and gives your next lesson a useful starting point. Keep the record brief so tracking supports practice instead of becoming another chore.

Good pickleball lessons build on attention, repetition, and honest reflection, not instant perfection. Use each practice to strengthen one useful habit, then bring your questions and notes to the next conversation with a pickleball coach or pickleball instructor. If you are ready to keep learning, explore pickleball lessons in Naples through FindPickleballLessons.com and choose a next step that fits your goals. Stay curious, be patient, and enjoy the progress you earn!
